Gather

IMG_0767When we gather together, there’s laughter, support, food and friendship. We have many ways for you to join our community in small social groups, so that you can get to know us.

We gather for supper together at Wednesday Night Live, generally on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. It’s a chance to unwind by visiting with our friends. Dinners vary depending on the cooks for the night, but typically include homemade Chinese, homemade pizza or soup. A freewill offering offsets our costs, and all are welcome.

We also gather together frequently for other events around food. Some are one-time events, such as our Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and a “Hawaiian” fundraiser for youth scholarships are a few examples from 2015 alone. Many are regularly scheduled, such as:

Adult Night Out: The adults of our church meet once a month at the home of one of our members for a potluck supper. Watch the Good News for information every month.

Ladies Night Out: Women of Christ Church meet monthly at a restaurant to visit and learn more about each other. Watch the church calendar for dates, or contact the church office for more details.

Faith in Film:  This group meets each month to watch a movie that will spark conversation about spiritual or theological topics. In 2014-2015, we have watched Philomena, Field of Dreams and many other films, and enjoyed great conversation around them. All are welcome, and check the church calendar for dates and times.

St. Mary’s Guild: This long-standing gathering is a combination group. Through various events, like the holiday craft fair, they raise money to support the Christian Cupboard and other ministries. They also knit blankets for the homeless and provide many other ministries around the Twin Cities. And the time they spend on Tuesday mornings laughing and doing projects provides them opportunity to create a tight bond with each other. All are welcome to join them.

We’re always open to new ways to nurture our community, share our stories and foster friendships in our community. If you have an idea of a way to get together, contact our church office to discuss it.
