Sunday Morning

The center of our community is our two Sunday morning services: a traditional service at 8:30 a.m. and a contemporary service at 10:30 a.m.

What can you expect when you visit us? Most of our service is in our bulletin, which is available from an usher when you arrive. Our 8:30 a.m. service tends to be more traditional, and the 10:30 a.m. service tends to be more contemporary. Our musical director is equally comfortable with his feet moving across the organ pedals at 8:30, as he is playing piano with the rock band that often joins us at the 10:30 service.

The attitude in both services is relaxed and welcoming to people at every stage of life.  We are genuinely happy to have you join us, and we will let you know that whenever you choose to worship with us.

We have an “open table,” which means that everyone who is baptized may receive the bread and wine during the Eucharist. Children may come forward to receive when they and their parents believe they are ready.

We have a professionally staffed nursery every Sunday and during many church holidays. The nursery includes toys, books and two staff members to watch over children from ages six months to 5 years.

We also have special services about once quarterly. These include an African service, which incorporates many of the traditions of our Nigerian and Ghanaian church members. Our Beatles services feature classic rock songs that most people know, but don’t realize have religious undertones. Our Blessing of the Animals services bring dogs and cats, parrots and hermit crabs into our sanctuary.

We strive to use the unique talents of our congregation to enhance our services. This year, we used the theatrical talents of our community, especially our youth, to do a modern Stations of the Cross. We have a small Christmas orchestra, a Sunday choir, and a handbell choir which plays for our Christmas and Easter services.

We look forward to having you join us!
